"I try to introduce students to basic information about pigments, papers, and brushes, but most of all I like to give tremendous permission."
— Annie Shaver-Crandell
I offer very small group painting classes at my Bond Street studio. We're never more than four in a spacious and well-ventilated studio, and we follow Covid safety protocol.
Tea is always served at break-time.
|Monday||12:00 pm - 3:00 pm|
|Wednesday||2:00pm - 5:00pm|
“I went to art school and then I didn’t paint for years. Since [meeting Annie in 2007], I’ve been painting… It’s good to come to a studio, where there’s some feedback, and there are other people painting. It’s a nice atmosphere… Annie is terrific.”
— Judy (student since 2007)
“I absolutely love the space here… it’s been a wonderful journey. Annie is an amazing teacher. She’s not a helicopter [but] she’s ready, to be referenced to. I can always rely on her to be there. [We are] encouraged to be very free, and to experiment”
— Desi (student since 2009)
“There’s something very intimate to me about watercolors, and I’ve often said it’s like poetry. It’s lyrical, it’s light, it’s hard! [Painting here] has made me forget my other life, in healthcare”
